FCP trip to south of france
A closer look at the people, places and passion behind our wines
A recent trip to the South of France gave the FCP Wines team the opportunity to reconnect with the people, places and passion behind some of the wines we proudly supply to the trade. Visiting producers in person is a vital part of how we work — it allows us to better understand each wine at its source and ensure every bottle we offer has genuine character, quality and consistency.
The South of France is one of the most diverse and exciting wine regions in the world. From sun-drenched vineyards and coastal influences to varied soils and microclimates, the region produces wines that balance approachability with depth — perfect for modern wine lists across pubs, restaurants and hotels.
During the trip, we spent time walking vineyards, tasting across vintages, and discussing winemaking philosophies directly with producers. These conversations give invaluable insight into how wines evolve year on year and help us select bottles that deliver real value and interest for our customers. It’s this hands-on approach that ensures our range isn’t just well-priced, but thoughtfully curated.
Meeting producers face-to-face also strengthens long-term relationships. Many of the wineries we work with are family-run businesses where sustainability, tradition and innovation go hand in hand. Seeing their processes first-hand — from harvest decisions to cellar techniques — allows us to confidently stand behind every wine we supply.
Trips like this directly benefit our trade customers. The deeper knowledge we gain helps us make more informed recommendations, support staff training sessions, and design wine lists that tell a story guests can connect with. Whether it’s a fresh, aromatic white for summer service or a structured red for food pairing, understanding the origin makes all the difference.
Our visit to the South of France reaffirmed why we do what we do. Great wine starts in the vineyard, but it’s the relationships, expertise and shared passion that turn it into something special on the table. We’re excited to continue bringing these wines — and their stories — to venues across the UK.
